By the Lords of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council
Their Lordships, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by article 6(1) and (2) of the Health Professions Order 2001[
1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Health Professions (Parts of and Entries in the Register) (Amendment) Order of Council 2004 and shall come into force on 18th October 2004.
Parts of the register and designated title
2.
In Schedule 1 to the Health Professions (Parts of and Entries in the Register) Order of Council 2003[
2] (parts of the register) -
(a) in column 1 (parts of the register), after the entry "Part 12 - Speech and Language Therapists" add -
Part 13 - Operating Department Practitioners; and
(b) in column 2 (designated title), opposite "Part 13 - Operating Department Practitioners" in column 1, add "Operating Department Practitioner".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
The register established and maintained by the Health Professions Council is divided into Parts relating to the professions regulated under the Health Professions Order 2001. That Order has been amended by the addition of "Operating Department Practitioners" to the professions regulated under it. This Order adds "Operating Department Practitioners" to the Parts into which the register is to be divided. It also provides that the designated title (which may be used only by persons included in that Part of the register) is "Operating Department Practitioner".
