EXTRADITION
The Extradition Act 2003 (Repeals) Order 2004

Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 219(2) of the Extradition Act 2003[
1], hereby makes the following Order:
1.
This Order may be cited as the Extradition Act 2003 (Repeals) Order 2004 and shall come into force on the expiry of one week beginning with the day on which it was made.
2.
Sections 86 and 87 of the Crime (International Co-operation) Act 2003[
2] are repealed.
3.
Section 243(3) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003[
3] is repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
The Extradition Act 1989[
4] is repealed by Schedule 4 to the Extradition Act 2003. This Order repeals references in two Acts which contain references to the Extradition Act 1989.
Article 2 repeals provisions in the Crime (International Co-operation) Act 2003 that allow the Extradition Act 1989 to be applied in certain circumstances by Order in Council. Article 3 repeals section 243(3) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003. That provision contains definitions which refer to the Extradition Act 1989.
