The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[
1], and now vested in him[
2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf.
1.
This Order may be cited as the A15 Trunk Road (North of the M180 Motorway Junction 5 including the Link Road to the A63 Trunk Road) (Detrunking) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st July 2001.
2.
In this Order -
(i) "the plan"

means the plan numbered HA 10/PS/224, marked "The A15 Trunk Road (North of the M180 Motorway Junction 5 including the Link Road to the A63 Trunk Road) (Detrunking) Order 2001," signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Ashdown House, St. Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA; |
(ii) "principal road"
|
as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and |
(iii) "the trunk road"
|
means the A15 Trunk Road and the link road from Humber Fields Roundabout to the A63 Trunk Road. |
3.
The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as principal roads from the date on which this Order comes into force.

SCHEDULE
LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD
The lengths of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road are shown by broad black dashes on the plan and are situated -
(a) between (and including) the roundabout at the M180 junction 5 (marked 'A' on the plan) and a point 120 metres north of Dam Road, Barton upon Humber (marked 'B' on the plan) and measuring approximately 15 kilometres in length; and
(b) between the Humber Bridge roundabout (marked 'C' on the plan) and the junction with the road leading to Ferriby Village (marked 'D' on the plan) including Humber Bridge and Humber Fields Roundabout and measuring approximately 1.4 kilometres in length.
