The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[
1], and now vested in him[
2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf.
1.
This Order may be cited as the A134 Thetford to Tottenhill Trunk Road (A11 Thetford Bypass to A10 Tottenhill) Detrunking Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st May 2001.
2.
In this Order -
(i)

"the plan" |
means the plan numbered L306GB/401/A134/1-4, marked The A134 Thetford to Tottenhill Trunk Road (A11 Thetford Bypass to A10 Tottenhill) Detrunking Order 2001 signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Highways Agency, Room G44,St Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE; |
(ii)
|
"principal road" |
as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and |
(iii)
|
"the trunk road" |
means the A134 trunk road. |
3.
From the date when this Order comes into force the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road.

THE SCHEDULE
LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD
The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between a point at the A11/A134 Mundford Road roundabout to the A10/A134 Junction at Tottenhill and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan.
