"Dr Bailey had quoted DSM-IV whereas Dr Owen had quoted ICD-10. We examined both of those, of course, as laymen and it appeared to us that the differences between the two definitions were not significant in our overall view of the case."
"the interval of 12 - 14 years between his last tour of duty and any real difficulties seem to us to confirm Dr Bailey's opinion that whilst he had experienced post traumatic stress symptoms these did not warrant a diagnosis of post traumatic stress disorder."
