PRELIMINARY HEARING
For the Appellants | MR J N GALBRAITH-MARTIN (of Counsel) Mr J Clinch Legal Officer UNISON 1 Mabledon Place London WC1H 9AJ |
JUDGE J. ALTMAN: This is an appeal from the decision of the Employment Tribunal on 30 July 1998. It comes before us by way of a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is an arguable point of law such as to justify the case proceeding to a full hearing before the Employment Appeal Tribunal. We have considered the submissions and skeleton argument of Mr Galbraith-Martin together with the Notice of Appeal. We have decided that there are arguable points of law and this matter will proceed to a full hearing before the Employment Appeal Tribunal to be listed in category A for a full day. Any amendments to the Appellants skeleton argument, and the Respondents skeleton argument must be submitted not less than 14 days before the hearing and in this case, apart from having to agree in advance the contents of the appeal bundle, we consider that it would be helpful if the parties prepare an agreed list of authorities also to be submitted before the Tribunal not less than 14 days before the hearing.
