The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 76B, 76F(5) and (6), 76J, 101(1) and (1A), and 109(1) of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations: Citation, commencement and extent 1. - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 26th June 2001. (2) These Regulations extend to Scotland only. Amendment of the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 2001 2. - (1) The Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 2001[2] are amended as follows. (2) In regulation 8(1) (authorisation of supply points), for the word ", being" there is substituted "may, if". (3) In regulation 36 (amendment of the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 1990), the words ", with effect from 31st January 2001," are omitted. ROSS FINNIE A member of the Scottish Executive St Andrew's House, Edinburgh 18th June 2001 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 2001 ("the Principal Regulations"). Regulation 2(2) corrects the unintentional omission of the verb from Regulation 8(1) of the Principal Regulations. Regulation 2(3) removes the date 31st January 2001 from Regulation 36 of the Principal Regulations in order to make it clear that that Regulation is commenced in accordance with Regulation 1(2) of the Principal Regulations and comes into force on 26th June 2001. [1] 1980 c.45. Sections 76B, 76F and 76J were inserted by the Water Act 1989 (c.15), Schedule 22. Section 101(1A) was inserted by the Natural Heritage (Scotland) Act 1991 (c.28), Schedule 10, paragraph 9(5). The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c.46).back
