Coming into force

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 134(6) of the Local Transport Act 2008(1), make the following Order:
1.–(1) The title of this Order is the Local Transport Act 2008 (Commencement No.2) (Wales) Order 2009 and it applies in relation to Wales.
(2) In this Order–
"the Act" ("y Ddeddf") means the Local Transport Act 2008.
2. 31 January 2010 is the appointed day for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act–
(a) Section 13 (in so far as it is not already in force).
(b) Sections 14–18.
(c) Section 68(2).
(d) Section 131 so far as it relates to the following–
Part 1 of Schedule 7,
In Part 2 of Schedule 7, the repeals relating to section 116(2) and Schedule 10 of the Transport Act 2000(2),
In Part 2 of Schedule 7, the repeal relating to the Enterprise Act 2002(3),
In Part 3 of Schedule 7, the repeals relating to Sections 74, 75 and 79 of the Transport Act 1985(4),
In Part 3 of Schedule 7, the repeals relating to the Transport Act 2000,
In Part 5 of Schedule 7, the repeals relating to the Transport Act 2000,
and accordingly those repeals.

This Order brings into force on 31 January 2010 the following provisions of the Local Transport Act 2008 ("the Act")(5).
Sections 13 to 18 (with the exception of Section 13(1) and 13(2) which came into force on 1 April 2009) which amend powers in the Transport Act 2000(6) for local transport authorities to make quality partnership schemes.
Section 68(2) which extends the powers of the Welsh Ministers to subsidise the provision of certain passenger transport services.
Section 131 in so far as it relates to repeals in Schedule 7 and accordingly those repeals.
