The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 124 of the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006(1).
1.–(1) These Regulations are called the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) (Amendment) (No.2) (Wales) Regulations 2009 and come into force on 7 December 2009.
(2) These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.
(3) In these Regulations, "the principal Regulations" ("y prif Reoliadau") means the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations 1989(2).
2. In Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations delete the words–
"Guernsey and its bailiwick", and
"Jersey".

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations 1989 (S.I. 1989/306) ("the 1989 Regulations). The Regulations remove Guernsey and its bailiwick and Jersey from Schedule 2 to the 1989 Regulations. Visitors from these territories to Wales will no longer be exempt under regulations 4 and 5 of the 1989 Regulations from charges for healthcare provided within the NHS.
