The National Assembly for Wales in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 16(1)(b),(c),(d),(e) and (f), 17(1), 26, 45, 48(1) and 49(2) of, and paragraphs 5(1), (2) and (3) and 6(1)(a) of Schedule 1 to, the Food Safety Act 1990[1], after having regard in accordance with section 48(4A) of that Act to relevant advice given by the Food Standards Agency and after consultation in accordance with section 48(4) and (4B) of that Act, and (insofar as these Regulations could not have been made under the Food Safety Act 1990) being designated[2] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[3] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2(2), makes the following Regulations: Title, application and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Meat Products (Hygiene) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2000, shall apply to Wales only and shall come into force on 31 July 2000. Amendment to the Meat Products (Hygiene) Regulations 1994 2. - (1) The Meat Products (Hygiene) Regulations 1994[4] are amended in accordance with paragraph (2) below insofar as they apply to Wales. (2) The following paragraph is substituted for paragraph 2(a) of Part IX of Schedule 2 -
(ii) be refrigerated to 10°C or less before being mixed with the other ingredients, or (iii) be cooled and mixed with the other ingredients in such a way (to be specified in the approval document for the establishment concerned) that the timing during which the temperature of the meat product is between 10°C and 60°C is kept to a minimum;".
Consequential amendment
