(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations revoke the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 (Commencement No. 2 and Saving Provisions) Regulations 2024 ( S.I. 2024/714) (“ the Commencement Regulations”). The Commencement Regulations were made to commence section 6 of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 (c. 28)(“ the Act”) on 1st October 2024 and create appropriate saving provisions. The revocation of the Commencement Regulations by these Regulations means that section 6 of the Act will no longer come into force on 1st October 2024.
See section 21(1) of the Act for the definition of “relevant national authority”.
