The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(3) of the Seafarers’ Wages Act 2023( 1).
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Seafarers' Wages Act 2023 (Commencement) Regulations 2024.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
2. All provisions of the Seafarers’ Wages Act 2023 come into force, insofar as they are not already in force, on 1st December 2024.

These Regulations bring into force the remaining provisions of the Seafarers’ Wages Act 2023 (“ the Act”), as anticipated by section 20(3) of the Act, insofar as they were not already in force pursuant to section 20(2) of the Act.
The provisions that are mentioned in section 20(2) of the Act came into force on 23rd March 2023, the day on which the Act came into force.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
