The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14(4), 16(3) and 18(4) of the National Security and Investment Act 2021( 1).
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Security and Investment Act 2021 (Prescribed Form and Content of Notices and Validation Applications) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 20th April 2022.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
2. The National Security and Investment Act 2021 (Prescribed Form and Content of Notices and Validation Applications) Regulations 2021( 2) are amended as follows—
(a) in Schedule 1 in paragraph 21(d) after “national infrastructure” insert “sector”;
(b) in Schedule 2 in paragraph 25(d) after “national infrastructure” insert “sector”;
(c) in Schedule 3 in paragraph 29(d) for “critical national infrastructure” substitute “national infrastructure sector”.

These Regulations correct errors identified by the Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments in its 22nd Report of 2021-2022 by amending the National Security and Investment Act 2021 (Prescribed Form and Content of Notices and Validations Applications) Regulations 2021. In Schedules 1 and 2 references to ‘national infrastructure’ are replaced with ‘national infrastructure sector’ and in Schedule 3 ‘critical national infrastructure’ is replaced with ‘national infrastructure sector’.
