The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 103(2)(a) and (6) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 11th May 2018.
2. Regulation 3 of the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) Regulations 2013(2) is amended as follows-
(a)in paragraph (6)(e), after "2017" insert "(but before 12th May 2018)";
(b)after paragraph (6)(e) insert-
"(f)on or after 12th May 2018, £610.".

These Regulations amend the Recovery of Costs (Remand to Youth Detention Accommodation) Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/507) by inserting a new amount that designated authorities are liable to pay the Secretary of State in respect of each night on which a child is detained on remand to youth detention accommodation in a secure children's home (increased from £579 to £610) on or after 12th May 2018.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
