Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 1(1), (4A) and (4B) of the Consular Fees Act 1980(1) is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Consular Fees (Amendment) Order 2014 and comes into force on 7th April 2014.
2. (1) The Consular Fees Order 2012(2) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph A of the table in Part 2 of Schedule 1(3) (Table of consular fees relating to passport services)-
(a)in sub-paragraph (a)-
(i)before the words "where the applicant", insert "unless (d) or (e)(i) applies,";
(ii)for "128.00" substitute "83.00";
(b)in sub-paragraph (c)-
(i)before the words "where the applicant", insert "unless (e)(ii) applies,";
(ii)for "81.50" substitute "53.00";
(c)in the opening words of sub-paragraph (d), before the word "is", insert "is aged 16 years or over, but born after 2nd September 1929 and";
(d)in sub-paragraph (e)(i), after the words "aged 16 years or over", insert ", but born after 2nd September 1929".
(3) In paragraph B of the table in Part 2 of Schedule 1, in sub-paragraph (a), for "154.50" substitute "91.00".

This Order further amends the Consular Fees Order 2012 to make amendments to fees in connection with passport applications. The Order reduces the fees for applications made overseas for adult and child 32 page passports, and for 48 page passports, except for Diplomatic, Official or Armed Forces passports.
The Order also clarifies the drafting of paragraph A of the table of consular fees relating to passport services, to make clear that the fees payable by applicants for Diplomatic, Official and Armed Forces passports, and their dependants, are intended to operate by way of exception to the ordinary fees for overseas applicants; and that no fees are payable by persons born on or before 2nd September 1929.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
1980 c. 23: subsections (4A) and (4B) were inserted by section 12 of, and paragraph 2 of the Schedule to, the Identity Documents Act 1980(c. 40).
S.I. 2012/798, relevant amendments were made by S.I. 2012/1752 and S.I. 2013/1720.
The table in Part 2 of Schedule 1 was substituted by S.I. 2013/1720.
