The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 3(4) of Schedule 1 to the Health and Social Care Act 2008(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Care Quality Commission (Membership) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and come into force on 1st October 2013.
2. In regulation 2 of the Care Quality Commission (Membership) Regulations 2008(2), for "not more than twelve" substitute "not more than fourteen".

These Regulations amend the Care Quality Commission (Membership) Regulations 2008, to increase the maximum number of members of the Care Quality Commission to fourteen.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
