(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations revoke regulation 9 of the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Jersey) Regulations 2010 which prescribed which police forces were "relevant" police forces for the purposes of providing information to be disclosed on an enhanced criminal record certificate under section 113B of the Police Act 1997 (c. 50). Under changes made by section 82(3) of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (c. 9), police forces no longer need to be prescribed, rather the Secretary of State will determine the relevant chief officer force in relation to a certificate.
1997 c. 50; section 113B was inserted by section 163(2) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (c. 15).
S.I. 2010/1087 as amended by S.I. 2010/2701 and another instrument which is not relevant.
