1. This Order may be cited as The A453 Birmingham to Nottingham Trunk Road (M1 Junction 24 to A52 Nottingham Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 2012 and shall come into force on 24th May 2012.
2. In this Order -
(a)"the new trunk road" means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(2)(a) of the A453 Birmingham to Nottingham Trunk Road (M1 Junction 24 to A52 Nottingham Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 2012(3);
(b)"the trunk road" means the A453 Birmingham to Nottingham Trunk Road (M1 Junction 24 to A52 Nottingham)
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Nottinghamshire County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between M1 Junction 24 and the A52 Nottingham and is shown by broad black dashes on the Site Plan HA 10/MP/99 Sheet 1 of 1 marked "The A453 Birmingham to Nottingham Trunk Road (M1 Junction 24 to A52 Nottingham Improvement) (Detrunking Order) 2012" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Document Deposit Service, Communities and Local Government, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.

This order reclassifies the length of road situated between a point on the A453, 180 metres north-east of its junction with Barton Lane on the boundary of Thrumpton Parish and Barton in Fabis Parish, to a point north-eastwards 500 metres south-west of the junction of Fox Covert Lane and the trunk road so that it is no longer a trunk road.
