The Lord President of the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 43(1) of the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2010.
2. Section 6 of the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (number of Electoral Commissioners) comes into force on 1st October 2010.

This Order brings into force on 1st October 2010 section 6 of the Political Parties and Elections Act 2009 (c.12). Section 6 amends section 1(3) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c.41) by increasing the number of Electoral Commissioners to nine or ten from a minimum number of five and a maximum number of nine.
