The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 123(1)(d) and (e), 135(1), 137(1) and 175(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992(1), section 79(4) of the Social Security Act 1998(2), paragraphs 4(4) and (6), 20(1) and 23(1) of Schedule 7 to the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000(3), sections 22, 24, 25(2), (3) and (5), 28(2) and 29 of, and paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 and paragraphs 1(1), 3(b), 7 and 8(1) of Schedule 4 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2007(4).
The Secretary of State has not referred these Regulations to the Social Security Advisory Committee as it appears to the Secretary of State that by reason of urgency it is inexpedient to do so(5).
The Secretary of State has not undertaken consultation with organisations appearing to the Secretary of State to be representative of the authorities concerned, as it appears to the Secretary of State that by reason of urgency it is inexpedient to do so(6).
1.–(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Employment and Support Allowance (Transitional Provisions, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit) (Existing Awards) (Revocation) Regulations 2010.
(2) These Regulations shall come into force on 27th August 2010.
2. The Employment and Support Allowance (Transitional Provisions, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit) (Existing Awards) Regulations 2010(7) are revoked.

These Regulations revoke the Employment and Support Allowance (Transitional Provisions, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit) (Existing Awards) Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/875). These Regulations should be read in conjunction with the Employment and Support Allowance (Transitional Provisions, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit) (Existing Awards) (No. 2) Regulation 2010 (S.I. 2010/1907) which remakes S.I. 2010/875.
These Regulations, together with S.I. 2010/1907, have no new impact on the private, public or voluntary sectors.
1992 c. 4. Section 123(1)(e) was substituted by the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (c. 14), Schedule 9, paragraph 1(1). Section 137(1) is an interpretation provision and is cited for the definition of "prescribed".
