The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 33J(2) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 ("the Act") (1):
1. This Order may be cited as the Specified Sixth Form College Corporation Order 2010 and comes into force on 1st April 2010.
2. The sixth form college corporations listed in the Schedule to this Order are specified for the purposes of section 33J(2) of the Act.

This Order specifies the sixth form college corporations to which section 33J(2) of the Act applies.
Section 33J provides that the instrument of government of such sixth form college corporations must require that a majority of the members of the governing bodies of the relevant sixth form college be persons appointed for the purpose of securing (so far as practicable) that the established character of the college be preserved and developed and, in particular, that the sixth form college is conducted in accordance with any trust deed relating to it.
