The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by sections 18(2), 272(7) and (8) and 273(1) of, and paragraph 13(1) of Schedule 3 to, the National Health Service Act 2006(1).
In accordance with section 18(5) of that Act, the prescribed consultation has been completed(2).
1.–(1) This Order may be cited as the North Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust (Change of Name) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 1st August 2008.
(2) In this Order–
"the Order" means the North Tees Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001(3); and
"the trust" means the Primary Care Trust established by the Order.
2.–(1) The trust shall be called the Stockton-on-Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust instead of the North Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust, and accordingly in article 1 of the Order in the definition of "the trust", and in article 2 of the Order, for "North Tees Teaching" substitute "Stockton-on-Tees Teaching".
(2) The change of name effected by paragraph (1) shall not–
(a) affect any right or obligation of any person; or
(b) be taken as invalidating any instrument (whether made before, on or after the day on which this Order comes into force) which refers to the trust by either of its previous names,
and all instruments and other documents which refer to the trust under either of its previous names shall be construed as referring to it under its new name.

This Order amends the North Tees Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001.
Article 2 of the Order changes the name of the North Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust to the Stockton-on-Tees Teaching Primary Care Trust. The Trust was previously known as the North Tees Primary Care Trust.
