This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 8(1) of Schedule 8 and paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 10 to the Traffic Management Act 2004(1).
Cheshire County Council has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under these powers with respect to part of its area.
The Secretary of State has consulted the chief officer of the Cheshire Police in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 8(3) of Schedule 8 and 3(4) of Schedule 10.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Transport(2) makes this Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Cheshire) (Borough of Macclesfield) Designation Order 2008 and shall come into force on 14th May 2008.
2. The Secretary of State designates the area described in the Schedule to this Order as–
(a) a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and
(b) a special enforcement area.

1. This Order applies to the Borough of Macclesfield except–
(a) Motorway M6 for its entire length within the Borough including slip roads;
(b) Motorway M56 for its entire length within the Borough including slip roads; and
(c) A556 Trunk Road between the M56/A56 roundabout and M6 junction 19.

This Order designates the areas shown in the Schedule to the Order as a civil enforcement area and a special enforcement area for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
No Impact Assessment has been prepared for this instrument as it has no significant effect on the cost to business and the voluntary sector.
