The Lord Privy Seal makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 36(1)(a) and 39(2)(c) of the Equality Act 2006(1).
1.–(1) This Order may be cited as the Equality Act 2006 (Dissolution of Commissions and Consequential and Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 31st December 2007.
(2) This Order does not extend to Northern Ireland.
2. In the Schedule to the Equality Act 2006 (Dissolution of Commissions and Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Order 2007(2)–
(a) for paragraph 4, substitute–
"4. In its application to the Commission, the Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) Order 2001 shall have effect as if for "31st May 2002" (in each place) there were substituted "1st April 2008"."(3);
(b) for paragraph 9, substitute–
"9. In the application of the Disability Discrimination (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Regulations 2005 to the Commission, regulation 2(6) shall have effect as if, after paragraph (d), there were inserted–
"(e) in the case of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights, 1st April 2008."."(4); and
(c) for paragraph 11, substitute–
"11. In the application of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Order 2006 to the Commission article 2(1) shall have effect as if, for "30th April 2007", there were substituted "1st April 2008"."(5).

This Order amends the provisions of the Equality Act 2006 (Dissolution of Commissions and Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Order 2007 that make consequential modifications to the Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) Order 2001, the Disability Discrimination (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Regulations 2005 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Order 2006 to amend the deadlines applicable to the Commission for Equality and Human Rights ("the Commission") under those instruments.

A further impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no additional impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
