The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 12(2) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004[
1], makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and application
1.
—(1) This Order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (Regions) (New Forest National Park) (England) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 18th December 2007.
(2) This Order applies in relation to England only.
Treatment of area within New Forest National Park
2.
The Secretary of State directs that the area of the New Forest National Park (which falls within the South East region and the South West region) is treated as falling wholly within the South East region.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
Part 1 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 provides, amongst other matters, for regional spatial strategies relating to the development and use of land within each of the regions, except London, specified in Schedule 1 to the Regional Development Agencies Act 1998.
Section 12(2) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 enables the Secretary of State by order to direct that if the area covered by a National Park falls within more than one region it is treated as falling wholly within one of them.
This Order directs that the New Forest National Park is treated as falling wholly within the South East region.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
