MENTAL HEALTH, ENGLAND AND WALES
The Mental Health Act 2007 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2007
The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 56(3) of the Mental Health Act 2007[

Citation and extent
1.
—(1) This Order may be cited as the Mental Health Act (Commencement No. 2) Order 2007.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.
Commencement
2.
Section 51 of the Mental Health Act 2007 comes into force on 1 October 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is the second commencement order made under the Mental Health Act 2007 and brings into force section 51 of that Act in relation to England and Wales. Section 51 makes a minor amendment to section 20(11)(a) of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. It replaces the word "or" with "and".
The Mental Health Act 2007 (Commencement No. 1) Order (2007/2156) brought provisions of the Act into force as follows –
