The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[
1], having consulted with such representative organisations as he thought fit, hereby makes the following Order:
1.
This Order may be cited as the A249 Trunk Road (Iwade Bypass to Queenborough Improvement) (Derestriction) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 31st July 2006.
2.
The lengths of the new Trunk Road specified in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be restricted roads for the purposes of section 81 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
3.
In this Order:
"the new Trunk Road" means the new Trunk Road on the Isle of Sheppey in the Borough of Swale in the County of Kent constructed in pursuance of the A249 Trunk Road (Iwade Bypass to Neatscourt roundabout and Bridge) Order 2000[2]

THE SCHEDULEThe length of the new Trunk Road on the Isle of Sheppey in the Borough of Swale in the County of Kent to be a derestricted road is from a point approximately 120 metres south of Cowstead roundabout to Neatscourt roundabout, in both directions, a total distance of approximately 870 metres.
