The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 2A(1) of the Civil Procedure Act 1997[
1], after consulting in accordance with section 2A(2A) of that Act, and with the concurrence of the Lord Chief Justice in accordance with section 2A(2) of that Act.
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Civil Procedure Act 1997 (Amendment) Order 2006, and shall come into force on 1st September 2006.
Amendment to the Civil Procedure Act 1997
2.
In section 2 of the Civil Procedure Act 1997 (Rule Committee), in subsection (2)(c), for "one district judge" substitute "either one or two district judges".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends section 2 of the Civil Procedure Act 1997 so that the Lord Chief Justice may appoint either one or two district judges to the Civil Procedure Rule Committee
