The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on her by sections 79 and 126(4) of the National Health Service Act 1977[

Citation, commencement and application
1.
—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Dental Charges) Amendment Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 10th August 2006.
(2) These Regulations apply in relation to England only[

Amendment to the National Health Service (Dental Charges) Regulations 2005
2.
In Schedule 3 to the National Health Service (Dental Charges) Regulations 2005[
3] (Band 3 Charges – Provision of Appliances) paragraph (i) shall be omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations correct an error in the National Health Service (Dental Charges) Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/3477) ("the 2005 Regulations").
Regulation 2 removes the reference to "Crowns in other materials" in the list of appliances for which a Band 3 charge may be made and recovered in Schedule 3 to the 2005 Regulations.
A full Regulatory Impact Assessment of the effect has been prepared in respect of the 2005 Regulations. A copy of the Regulatory Impact Assessment can be obtained from

The functions of the Secretary of State under section 79 of the National Health Service Act 1977 were transferred to Wales by article 2(a) of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I.1999/672), as amended by section 66(5) of the Health Act 1999.back
