The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 80(8B) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990[

Title, commencement and application
1.
This Order—
(a) may be cited as the Statutory Nuisances (Artificial Lighting) (Designation of Relevant Sports) (England) Order 2006;
(b) comes into force on 6th April 2006;
(c) applies in England only.
Designation of a "relevant sport"
2.
A sport appearing in the list of sports set out in the Schedule to this Order is designated as a "relevant sport" for the purposes of section 80(8A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990[2].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates the sports that are "relevant sports" for the purposes of section 80(8A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 ("the Act").
The designation is required so as to identify what is a "relevant sports facility", as described in section 80(8A) of the Act.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
