The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[
1] and now vested in him[
2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:
1.
This Order may be cited as the A2 Trunk Road (Pepperhill to Cobham) (Detrunking) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 27th October 2005.
2.
In this Order—
(i) "the new trunk roads" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(b)(ii) of the A2 Trunk Road (Pepperhill to Cobham and Slip Roads) Order 2005[3];
(ii) "the trunk road" means the A2 Trunk Road;
(iii) "the plan" means the plan numbered HA 10/MP/028 marked "The A2 Trunk Road (Pepperhill to Cobham) (Detrunking) Order 2005", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at ODPM-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
3.
The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Kent County Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

SCHEDULE
LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD
The length of the trunk road ceasing to be trunk road is situated between a point about 105 metres east of the centre line of Wrotham Road Junction underbridge at Gravesend in the County of Kent and a point about 195 metres east of the centre line of Wrotham Road Junction underbridge at Gravesend in the County of Kent and is shown by broad dashes on the plan.
