Whereas it appears to the Secretary of State that the body listed in article 2 of the following Order satisfies the criteria published by him pursuant to section 47B(9) of the Competition Act 1998[
1] ;
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 47B(9) of the Competition Act 1998 hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Specified Body (Consumer Claims) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.
Specified body
2.
The Consumers' Association is specified for the purposes of section 47B of the Competition Act 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order specifies the Consumers' Association as a body able to bring a claim to which section 47A of the Competition Act 1998 applies (monetary claims before the Competition Appeal Tribunal).
A regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as there are no direct costs for business.
