The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 52(1) and 60(1)(e) and (1A) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[
1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[
2], and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and extent
1.
—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 30th September 2005.
(2) These regulations extend to England and Wales[

Amendment of the principal Regulations
2.
—(1) The Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) Regulations 1986[
4] are amended as follows.
(2) In regulations 12(1)(b) and 12(2)(b) for "£45" substitute "£51".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations increase the fee for the registration of, or the variation of the registration of, a local bus service. The fee for a local bus service other than a community bus service is increased from £45 to £51 (an increase of 13.3% ). The fees were last increased on 1st October 2004.
