The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 1(1) of the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975[
1], and after such consultation as is mentioned in section 18(4) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Designation) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 23rd July 2005.
Designation
2.
The sports grounds specified in the Schedule to this Order (being sports grounds in England and Wales at which association football matches are played, which are occupied by clubs which are members of the Football League Limited or the Football Association Premier League Limited, and which in the opinion of the Secretary of State have accommodation for more than 5,000 spectators) are hereby designated as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975[

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and The New Stadium in Swansea as sports grounds requiring safety certificates under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
