PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION OF TERRORISM

Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament under section 123(4)(f) of the Terrorism Act 2000[
1], and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 112(2)(a) and (b) of the Terrorism Act 2000, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1.
This Order may be cited as the Terrorism Act 2000 (Continuance of Part VII) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 19th February 2005.
2.
- (1) Subject to paragraph (2), the provisions of Part VII of the Terrorism Act 2000 which are in force on 18
th February 2005[
2] shall continue in force for the period beginning 19
th February 2005 and ending with 18
th February 2006.
(2) The following provisions of the Terrorism Act 2000 shall cease to have effect: -
(a) Section 67(3) and (4);
(b) Section 70; and
(c) Section 71.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order continues in force for a further period of twelve months the provisions of Part VII of the Terrorism Act 2000 (which extend to Northern Ireland only) with the exception of the following provisions:
(a) section 100, which has not been brought into force;
(b) sections 67(3) and (4), 70 and 71, which by virtue of this Order shall cease to have effect on 19th February 2005;
(c) section 76[3];
(d) section 97(1) and (2)[4];
(e) section 97(3)[5];
(f) paragraph 36 of Schedule 4[6];
(g) paragraph 19 to 21 of Schedule 5[7].
The provisions continued in force by this Order will continue in force up to and including 18th February 2006.
