The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by article 60(1) of the Air Navigation Order 2000[
1] hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods)(Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 1st January 2005.
Amendment of the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002

- (1) Regulation 3(1) of the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002[
2] (interpretation) shall be amended as follows.
(2) For the definitions of "Technical Instructions" applying until and including 31st December 2002 and on and after 1st January 2003 there is substituted the following -
"
'Technical Instructions' means the 2005-2006 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation;".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002. The expression "Technical Instructions" used in the 2002 regulations now refers to the 2005/2006 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (
see regulation 2).
The 2005/2006 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Goods by Air can be purchased from -
- Freight Merchandising Services, Unit 19, Ashford Industrial Estate, Shield Road, Ashford, Middlesex, TW15 1AU;
- Labeline (Air, Sea and Road), Holly House, 14 Tenby Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU16 5UT; or
- Documedia Solutions Ltd, 37 Windsor Street, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL52 2DG.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for these Regulations, as they have no impact on the cost of business.
