The M1 Motorway (Markham Road and Erin Road, Staveley, Derbyshire) Connecting Roads Scheme 2004

  Made 15th November 2004 
  Coming into force 7th February 2005 

The Secretary of State for Transport has made this scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980 [1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:

     1. This scheme may be cited as the M1 Motorway (Markham Road and Erin Road, Staveley, Derbyshire) Connecting Roads Scheme 2004 and shall come into force on 7th February 2005.

    
2. In this scheme - 

    (1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

    (2)

      (i) "the Motorway" means the M1 London - Yorkshire Motorway;

      (ii) "the special roads" means all the special roads which the Secretary of State is authorised by this scheme to provide;

      (iii) "the deposited plan" means the plan folio numbered HA 16/OD/30, marked "The M1 Motorway (Markham Road and Erin Road, Staveley, Derbyshire) Connecting Roads Scheme 2004", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at DfT Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, Sedlescombe Road North, St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, TN37 7GA.

     3. For the purpose of connecting the Motorway with other highways, the Secretary of State is authorised to provide along the routes described in the schedule hereto the special roads for the exclusive use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 of the Highways Act 1980.

    
4. The special roads shall become trunk roads from the date when this scheme comes into force.

    
5. The centre lines of the special roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

SCHEDULE
The routes of the special roads are routes at Staveley in the Districts of Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire in the County of Derbyshire as follows:

     1. A route to connect a roundabout to be constructed at Markham Road with the southbound carriageway of the Motorway given the reference number 1 on the deposited plan and being 919 metres in length.

     2. A route to connect the southbound carriageway of the Motorway with a roundabout to be constructed at Markham Road given the reference number 2 on the deposited plan and being 632 metres in length.

     3. A route to connect a roundabout to be constructed at Erin Road with the northbound carriageway of the Motorway given the reference number 3 on the deposited plan and being 507 metres in length.

     4. A route to connect the northbound carriageway of the Motorway with a roundabout to be constructed at Markham Road given the reference number 4 on the deposited plan and being 783 metres in length.
