PUBLIC PASSENGER TRANSPORT
The Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2004

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 52(1) and 60(1)(e) and (1A) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[
1], and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 30th August 2004.
Amendments
2.
The Schedule to the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) (Fees) Regulations 1995[
2] ("principal Regulations") is amended by substituting -
(a) in relation to fee number (i), "£179" for "£158";
(b) in relation to fee number (ii), "£119" for "£105";
(c) in relation to fee numbers (iii) and (iv), respectively -
(i) in column 3, "£119" for "£105"; and
(ii) in column 5, "£24" for "£21" in each place where it occurs;
(d) in relation to fee number (v), "£90" for "£79";
(e) in relation to fee number (vi) -
(i) in column 3, "£5.10" for "£4.50"; and
(ii) in column 5, "£5.90" for "£5.25";
(f) in relation to fee numbers (vii) and (viii), respectively, "£47" for "£42"; and
(g) in relation to fee number (ix), "£12.50" for "£11".
Transitional provisions
3.
Where a decision has been made before 30th August 2004 on an application for the grant of a standard or restricted licence under section 14(1) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981[3], the fee prescribed in the principal Regulations applies notwithstanding that the period of 21 days within which it is payable has not expired before that date.

These Regulations increase the fees which are payable under the Public Service Vehicles (Operators' Licences) (Fees) Regulations 1995.

The Regulations also contain transitional provisions in respect of fees for the grant of a standard or a restricted operators' licence.
