In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 537A (1) of the Education Act 1996 [
1], the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and application
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Information About Individual Pupils) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 14th January 2004.
2.
These Regulations apply only in relation to schools in England.
Amendment
3.
The Education (Information About Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2001[
2] shall be amended in accordance with the following provision of these Regulations.
4.
In paragraph 7 of Part 1 of the Schedule, after the words "Where the pupil has special educational needs," there shall be inserted "the type of special educational needs that pupil has and".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Education (Information About Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2001 by requiring schools to provide additional information as to the type of special educational needs a pupil with such needs has.

By virtue of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672) the powers conferred by these sections are exercisable by the Secretary of State in relation to England.back
