The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980 and now vested in him, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: -
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the A27 Trunk Road (Cophall Roundabout) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 25th August 2003.
(2) In this Order, all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway.
2.
The length of highway and roundabout described in the Schedule to this Order will become a trunk road from the date when this Order comes into force.
3.
The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered HA 65/45/5-1, marked "The A27 Trunk Road (Cophall Roundabout) Order 2003", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the ODPM DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonard's on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex, TN37 7GA.

THE SCHEDULE
Length of Highway becoming a Trunk Road
The length of highway becoming a trunk road is a 70-metre length of highway starting at the junction of the A27 Hailsham Road and the A22 heading north and including a roundabout known as the Cophall Roundabout.
