These Regulations amend the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion (Sponsorship) Transitional Regulations 2003 in order to clarify the conditions under which there is a time limited exception for the sponsorship of exceptional global events. "Exceptional global event" is defined in regulation 2 of those Regulations. The clarification makes it clear that the reference to "advertisements" in the conditions which apply to the exception is a reference to tobacco advertisements.
A separate Regulatory Impact Assessment for these Regulations has not been prepared.
