REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE
The Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2002
In exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 8(3) of the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002[
1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2002.
(2) In this Order "the Act" means the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002.

Section 6 of the Act (regulations as to information about national insurance numbers) shall come into force on 1st July 2002.
3.
Sections 1 (registration: provision of signature, date of birth and other information) and 7 (offences) of the Act shall come into force on 1st September 2002.
4.
- (1) Subject to paragraph (2), sections 2 (dates of birth and ballot papers), 3 (absent votes and declarations of identity) and 4 (electoral identity card) of the Act shall come into force on 1st December 2002.
(2) The coming into force of the amendments made by section 3 of the Act shall not apply in respect of an election where the last day for the publication of the notice of election is before 1st December 2002.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on the dates set out in articles 2 to 4 all of the provisions of the Electoral Fraud (Northern Ireland) Act 2002, except sections 5 and 8. Those sections came into force on Royal Assent by virtue of section 8(3).
