The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 138(1)(a)[
1] and (4) and 175(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992[
2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it[
3], hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 30th March 2002.
Amendment of the Regulations
2.
In regulation 3(1)(b) of the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Amendment Regulations 2002[
4] (transitional provisions), the word "expected" shall be omitted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Amendment Regulations 2002 (S.I. 2002/79).
In particular, regulation 2 corrects an error in a transitional provision.
These Regulations do not impose any charge on business.
