EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order specifies the maximum sum that a district council in the county of Leicestershire may recover from the owner of premises for any necessary repair, renewal or provision of apparatus urgently required to restore a sufficient supply of water, gas or electricity to the premises for domestic purposes.
Since 1st April 1997, the City of Leicester and the district of Rutland are no longer part of Leicestershire (
see, the Leicestershire (City of Leicester and District of Rutland) (Structural Change) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/507)). Nonetheless, the Leicestershire Act 1985 continues to apply in relation to those areas by virtue of regulation 5 of the Local Government Changes for England Regulations 1994 (S.I. 1994/867), as substituted by the Local Government Changes for England (Amendment) Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996 No. 611).
