This instrument is made for the purpose of correcting errors in Schedule 1 to S.I. 1999/2482 and is being issued, free of charge, to all known recipients of that statutory instrument.

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17 and 26 of the Local Government Act 1992(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Borough of Waverley (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2000.
(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.
2. The Borough of Waverley (Electoral Changes) Order 1999(2) is amended, in Schedule 1, column (3),-
(a)by the insertion, in respect of the column (1) entry "Godalming Binscombe", of the numeral "2";
(b)by the substitution-
(i)for the numeral "3", of the numeral "2", in respect of the column (1) entry "Haslemere East and Grayswood"; and
(ii)for the numeral "2", of the numeral "3", in respect of the column (1) entry "Hindhead".

This Order corrects errors in the Borough of Waverley (Electoral Changes) Order 1999, which has effect in relation to local government elections to be held on and after 1st May 2003. The amendments provide for two councillors to be elected for each of the Godalming Binscombe, and Haslemere East and Grayswood wards, and for three councillors to be elected for the Hindhead ward.
