The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 9(1)(b) of Schedule 17 to the Greater London Authority Act 1999(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Greater London (Penalty Fares) (Croydon Tramlink Designation) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 3rd July 2000.
2. In this Order "Tramlink" has the same meaning as in section 2(1) of the Croydon Tramlink Act 1994(2).
3. The Secretary of State hereby designates all services on Tramlink as services in relation to which paragraph 9 of Schedule 17 to the Greater London Authority Act 1999 is to apply.

This order designates services on Croydon Tramlink as qualifying train services to which the Mayor may, on the application of the operator, apply the penalty fares provisions contained in Schedule 17 to the Greater London Authority Act 1999.
