The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 49(1) of the Government of Wales Act 1998(1), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the National Assembly for Wales (First Meeting) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 6th May 1999.
2. The first meeting of the National Assembly for Wales shall be held on Wednesday 12th May 1999 commencing at 11 am in the Assembly Chamber at Crickhowell House, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff.

Section 49(1) of the Government of Wales Act 1998 provides for the first meeting of the National Assembly for Wales to be held on a day, and at a time and place, appointed by order by the Secretary of State.
This Order accordingly provides for the first meeting to be held on 12 May 1999 at 11 am in the chamber which has been provided for the Assembly in Crickhowell House, Cardiff Bay.
