The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 117(1) and 175(1) to (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, which contains only provisions in consequence of an order under section 141 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) (Re-rating) Consequential Amendment Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 6th April 1999 immediately after the coming into force of the Social Security (Contributions) (Re-rating and National Insurance Fund Payments) Order 1999(3).
2. In regulation 98 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 (modification of provisions of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 in relation to share fishermen)(4), in paragraph (c) (weekly rate of any Class 2 contributions payable by share fishermen) for "£7" substitute "£7.20".

These Regulations further amend regulation 98 (which relates to share fishermen) of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979. They amend paragraph (c) of that regulation by increasing the special rate of any Class 2 contributions payable by share fishermen from £7 to £7.20.
These Regulations contain only provisions in consequence of an order under section 141 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 and are exempt from reference to the Social Security Advisory Committee by virtue of section 172(3) of, and paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 7 to, that Act.
These Regulations do not impose any new costs on business.
