1. This Order may be cited as the A5 Trunk Road (Nesscliffe Bypass) Detrunking Order 1999 and shall come into force on 5th August 1999.
2. In this Order-“
(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)"the new trunk road" means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 1(1) of the A5 Trunk Road (Nesscliffe Bypass) Order 1999(3); and
(iii)"the trunk road" means the London to Holyhead Trunk Road (A5).
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Shropshire County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated at a point 83 metres north west of its junction with County Road B4396 A5 to Knockin Road for a distance of 4.29 kilometres in a generally south easterly direction, terminating at a point 669 metres north west of its junction with County Road D1202A Rodefern Lane and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/2WM177-“1 marked "The A5 Trunk Road (Nesscliffe Bypass) Detrunking Order 1999", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Ashdown House, Zone 2, Room 2/A4, 123 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DE.
