The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State, being Ministers designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred on them by that section, hereby make the following Regulations:-“
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) (Amendment) Regulations 1999, shall come into force on 30th June 1999 and shall extend to Great Britain.
2. Regulation 13(2) of the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) Regulations 1999 shall be amended by substituting for the words "In respect of the preparation at the establishment of any export eligible goods, that" the words "The operator of an establishment approved under regulation 12 above shall ensure, in respect of the preparation at the establishment of any export eligible goods, that".

These Regulations amend the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) Regulations 1999, S.I. 1999/1103, to correct an omission in regulation 13(2) of those Regulations. The amendment inserts a reference to the operator of an establishment approved under regulation 12 of those Regulations. Copies of these amending Regulations are being issued free of charge to all known purchasers of S.I. 1999/1103 by the International Trade Unit of the Animal Health (BSE) Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Government Buildings, Hook Rise South, Tolworth, Surbiton, Surrey KT6 7NF.
